Judges take note of attendance at SW brass band championships
UP TO 32 brass bands descended on Torquay for the 63rd annual championships of the South West Brass Band Association.
Players showed off their musical skills at the event held in the International Riviera Centre.
They were joined by their supporters from counties including Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Dorset.
Secretary Brian Elliott said: "The championships are unique in the brass band movement as no monetary awards has ever been made to the winning bands and the association is extremely proud that its member and guest bands continue to show such loyalty to the association.
"It's also pleasing to note the attendance of two youth and three training bands in their respective sections."
